Hello all, i am happy to say Dead Spawn is nearly out! I have a set a maximum of 2 months for the rest of development (but then again, i already overestimated by 2 years). I have a lot of bugs left but i have finally got the game to a place where i can record respectable footage. I have two huge barriers right now: path-finding (yes still an issue) and lag. It is also quite obvious that the path-finding causes lag, so i really gotta fix path-finding, perhaps by someone external.

Here’s a quote i found whilst looking at reviews of other similar games:

“Each wave zombies becomes stronger, faster and more numerous… and nothing else changes. That’s all gameplay”

This is something that i have been concerned about ever since i started development. I think the varied terrain and random perks that only last per round should help. I defiantly need more zombie variants, pickups and perks. Although i have 20 perks, it still seems like they are all the same with little variety. Maybe because they dont do much, I will probably make them more extreme.

Another concern brought up a lot is the repetitive nature of these kind of games, running backwards and shooting zombies. I introduced the mage which buffs surrounding zombies to help with this. This should force players to avoid routine, and target these mages.

Somehow i never think ill be truly satisfied with this project, i should probably just launch it.
